This album is in my opinion Flying Lotus's greatest work since L.A. [the previous album]. As soon as this magnificent piece of work blessed my ears, it sent me on a trip. For those who don't know, Flying Lotus is an electronica/trip hop beat artist; I'd say he's underground but he's pretty well known. He's definately not mainstream though. There's a good chance you've heard his music plenty of times if you watch Cartoon Network after hours; yep that's right, Adult Swim. He does most of their bumps..that's how I even came across him a few years ago. But yeah, COSMOGRAMMA. This album is hard to be explained as one type of sound because of the variety it displays. It's a little bit jazzy, a little bit upbeat, sensual, and energetic at the same time. It displays everything from saxophone and hard snare drum, to beautiful harp with other sounds crafted into the beat like ping pong balls and dripping faucets. The whole album to me sounds like a trip through the galaxy, and it tells something of a story..but every story will be different depending on the person listening. After a while it becomes a place you can just go to and..be. lol There's something for everyone in this album, no doubt. Even first time listeners. I STRONGLY suggest having a listen..even if you don't like it, go for the experience.

When I first heard the album, I instantly liked it, and as I continued to listen to it over time and appreciate each song I fell in love with the images they gave me; the whole thing inspires me every time I listened to it, and it still does. It also coincides with my interest in the universe and all things that have to do with it.
